This past week in ISM, I completed my ten-minute research speech and my research assessment. I also had the opportunity to continue to contact professionals in hopes of getting interviews. While contacting these people, I was successful in getting an interview with a PA this upcoming week at the North Texas Orthopedic and Spine Team.
Although I was nervous to do my speech, I felt accomplished being able to share my research with the class. This speech truly pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me that I am highly capable of speaking well in front of a crowd. As I was preparing and administering my speech, I realized that I am very passionate about what I am doing in this class. After my speech, I continued working on my research assessment, and I got to further my knowledge of common sports injuries. I researched ankle sprains and gained in-depth knowledge of the causes, prevention, and care for the injury.
I was very satisfied with the work I accomplished in ISM this past week, and I still look forward to where my journey takes me. Although it has been hard getting contacts and pursuing certain topics, I know that this research will ultimately help me become successful.
