Interviewing Success

This past week in ISM I had the opportunity to meet with two professionals. First I got to meet with Dr. Morgan Zellers a podiatrist at Frisco Foot & Ankle Specialists. Later that same week, I got to meet with Allyson Maze a CRNA in Dallas. I got the chance to utilize and practice my interview skills and learn a lot of things about the medical world that I did not know before.

Something that was important for me to learn was the schooling for each profession. Dr. Zellers informed me that she went through a total of 11 years of school including undergrad, medical school, and residency. Mrs. Maze informed me that she did 7 years of schooling including undergrad, medical school, and one year in a critical care unit. I also got the opportunity to ask them what they do on a day-to-day basis. Both of them spoke so passionately about what they do and are truly inspiring to me. I was fortunate to gain a lot of knowledge from both of them, and I am very thankful for their time.

This week was definitely a change of pace from the last one as I felt highly successful. I was very lucky to have the chance to utilize the skills of interviewing that I have learned to get the information that I really needed. This upcoming week, I plan to contact more CRNAs as well as PAs to gain as much knowledge as I can.
