This week in ISM I had a productive week to get ready for my first mentor visits with my mentor Mrs. Colleen Wooldridge. Over the break, she gave me forms that I needed to complete to be able to visit Baylor Scott and White. Another thing that I accomplished this week was Assessment #14, and I researched what it looks like to be a student in nurse anesthesia.
In completing the paperwork, I had to ensure that I was medically able to observe without risking the safety of others and myself in the hospital. After completing this, someone from the hospital contacted me to tell me exactly what I need to do when the time comes for me to go to the hospital. I got in contact with Mrs. Wooldridge and let her know about my message, and that I was looking forward to getting to observe her work. We talked for a little about what hours we were looking at and her availability. The other thing that I completed was my assessment, and I am really glad I took the time to find that article. The article informed me so much about what it looks like for someone in school who is aspiring to be a CRNA. As I read I got some great insight as well as some very neat photos.
I am looking forward to where my journey takes me these next few weeks. I am hoping to get in to observe with Mrs. Wooldridge, and to further my knowledge as to what this profession entails.
