This past week in ISM, was nothing like any of the other weeks I have had as part of my journey. There were some ups and downs during this time, but I got to learn greatly from my experience. I had the opportunity to go on a mentor visit, finish my final product proposal, and complete a research paper regarding my final product.
On my second mentor visit, I encountered something I was not expecting. I showed up to meet with Colleen at the hospital to witness her morning. On Monday she works in labor and delivery, so at the start of the morning, I got to watch her give an Epidural. I had heard all the horror stories from my mom about this shot so I was a little nervous going to witness it happening. Sure enough, my body did not love watching this procedure. I started getting sick and ended up having to leave a little bit early from my visit. Something that I also got done this week was my product proposal. I am glad that I decided to focus on the importance of patient care as I continue in my ISM journey. The research I did was very helpful and gave me lots of great ideas.
Although there were many hard parts in my week, I am so grateful I got to learn from them. I plan to continue my ISM journey with a positive attitude and continue to benefit from it.
